My first project at Journey pushed me to the limits of my professional skills. I developed over 100 custom Math Graphics for the Sphere. Some were inherited and reimagined, others created entirely from scratch for diverse production methods and materials.
Working with my team, we distilled the DNA of this massive megastructure and its technology into something intimate and human. Within the atrium, guests encounter those building blocks at three personal scales: pinch-able, grab-able, and hold-able. As visitors move through the space, the reflective graphics shift with light and perspective, creating a responsive dialogue between guest and structure.
These Math Graphics permeate the entire experience — from entrance to atrium to VIP areas — and extend across every touchpoint: walls, merchandise, even the napkins at the bars. They unify the interior concept and allow guests to feel connected to a structure almost incomprehensible in its scale.
